I made these boots in Illustrator (after a photography), but they got their background in Photoshop. I used the tools like Pen, Mesh, and for the seam I set a brush (a small rectangle). The grass were made in Photoshop with the help of a default brush. For the wall I used many Filters till I reached the reasult.
I made the compass totally in Illustrator. For the clockface I used the "R" key for dragging the round point into the center of the clockface. Then I set the grade ((ALT + Schift) Then I duplicated as many times as I needed to make the circle complete. For the frame I used Gradient Tool many times.

I made these Hamburger totally in Illustrator. I found the Pen and the Brush Tool the best for the shapes, and I set an extra brush for the corns on the upper side of the burger. I made each items separately (tomato, cucumber, cheese, etc) and at last put the layers onto each other.
The major of my work used up making the upper side (shadow and lights) of the tomato in order to make it really photorealistic. I tried to make the leaves as detailed as I could with the help of the Pen and Gradiant Tool.
